What a long day! We had a very cold trip home on the open bus tour and went straight to dinner at Bill Wyman's Sticky Fingers restaurant and met up with Aunty Anne (Matt's aunty, Roz’s sister). Lucky it was close to home, the kids were exhausted.
... Factory and many others. Every time you turned the corner there was another theatre with a different show playing. We decided to get tickets to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
After that it was about 9 pm, and since we had been travelling all day, we were all exhausted, and so off to our hostel we went. It was a tight fit with 10 people, but it worked. After all that travelling we all crashed because we knew the next day was going to be even more walking and exploring! ...
... the ladder only stairs (more like ladders!)...9 levels. So instead of climbing the monument I climbed all over this war ship...and add to that the insane number of stairs on the different tube lines today (oh that was an adventure!) is what indeed made it leg (and more specifically) stairmaster day!! Managed to make it back to my meet up in time & a bunch of us went walking around in search of dinner & a pint...by way of Kings Cross ...
... cockles and donuts. Delicious! Today we visited Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home in Kent. The gardens were lovely and the house was very interesting. Then on to Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn's childhood home. Finally, we went to Ashdown Forest, the 100 Aker Wood of Winnie the Pooh. We found Pooh's Bridge and played the Pooh Sticks game on it. ... though doesn't seem right without dim sims and potato cakes lol!
Then it was off to theatre! We booked tickets to see the Lion King and... wow! I wasn't sure how the movie would translate to stage, but the creative costuming, props and great acting made it one of the best theatre shows I've seen. Just amazing.
Now if only I could get the Circle of Life out of my ...
