... barter the poor driver down to 100 baht (£2) and after 30 minutes we still weren't home! We felt pretty sorry for him so tipped him an extra 20 baht (40 p) which he loved. I've just made it to the hotel and after weeks of living in the occasional **** hole it's nice to be in a place where I won't be concerned about ants in my bed or making sure I have something on my feet. I promised the guys I would go meet them for lunch, so it's a quick turn around, as low and behold there are two Luxx hotels in Bangkok and we went to the wrong one. We headed into the city to our chosen hotel. Our hotel was in the business district as opposed to the Khao Saan Road backpacker area. As we headed into the area it actually felt like we were in a different city compared to the first time - big sky scapers, very modern - felt more like New York. Our hotel was AMAZING.
