Yesterday we carried on to Phuket. We had to pass through a police checkpoint and while they had stopped others, they just waved us through. I don't think they know what to do with a foreign vehicle so it's easier for them not to do anything. Des and Jenny were already at the resort so we decided to join them for a couple of days. It's very nice. We had dinner with them last night too.

I thought I would be heading for Bangkok in order to get my Vietnam visa, yet a spontaneous change of plan means that I'm waiting for a taxi to Phuket airport, so that I can fly to Chiang Mai for a few days first! On our second day we got up at 7:30am had a buffet breakfast and went for an early swim at the beach.
It was such a lovely day that we all decided to go back to our resort and book a boat tour around Phuket for the afternoon as all we had seen of Phuket so far were the shops.
