OK - so when someone says, this place you've never heard of is GREAT...and they're in a very small country...you kind of learn to take it with a grain of salt ;) That's we had expected about the Lake Bled area in Norther Slovenia (Slovenia - formerly part of Yugoslavia - is just east of Italy, south of Austria, and west of Croatia). Wow, were we wrong!

Before we got to our campground, we ...

... they had a fresh milk machine at Walmart instead of a water bottle machine. I'd get fresh milk every day. Actually, I'd be happy if Walmart just got rid of that stupid square milk jug with 2 handles. Have you seen that yet? I hope the other milk companies don't start using those too. It's impossible to pour the milk without spilling half of it on the table. Truly, but enough about Walmart and back to Slovenia. Another intriguing ...

Slovenia has a lot to offer for such a small country (~2MM people, country roughly the size of Israel). We chose the capital city Ljubljana as our home base due to its scenery and strategic location - from there you can drive anywhere in the country within two hours (or go to Venice... but we're saving that for later). When we originally planned our Euro backpacking trip, Lake Bled was on our 'must-see' list. But when surrounded by ...
