... the bathroom door. I wondered how a person in a wheelchair would deal with that. There was a small shelf behind the sink and I wondered if a person in a wheel chair would be able to reach it. And the tub was well equipped with bars, but I wondered if a shower stall with a bench would not have been more practical. The whole experience made me very grateful for my abilities and more aware of what a struggle life must be for those with visual or mobility issues.
... couple of road signs that said 'Thickly Settled', which I was mystified by (are they talking about my waistline?) It turns out that it means densely populated and you must not drive more than 30 mph. Who knew?
The end of the day brought us to Mystic, CT. We walked around a bit as the sun was going down, catching some beautiful light and chatting with a road-tripping couple from Seattle. They have a motorhome and are spending a year on the road. I'm envious.

After breakfast Sunday morning at the Sheraton we enjoyed a pleasant drive out of New York City and camped in Mystic, Connecticut. It's getting a little chilly in the tent but we are now on our way to another campground in Massachusetts and at least one more night in the tent - but we will have another big campfire tonight!

... to LAX, but felt like a beta fish in its fishbowl for Air New Zealand. I don't know how they could have made it anymore uncomfortable for a 12 hour flight. I will be on my own touring Auckland. Emily will be arriving around 3am, and we depart Auckland with our bus company tomorrow at 7am. She'll be tired tomorrow. I have tried numerous times to save my initial blog, but to no avail.
