          Day 53. Friday 17 July 2015

          Now in Kalona which has many Amish and Mennonites and the others who are known as the 'English' to those folk.

          It was a nice town and we walked around it. I met a lovely lady called Marlene who was minding the antique shop. Most of the items were on consignment for different people.           ... Todd at the Holiday Inn Express. I talked with Homer a couple of times as he gave me info on conditions farther up the road. I have ended my day in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. It is incredibly windy here and they are expecting storms tonight. We will see.

          We traveled through the rest of South Dakota and made it into Ames Iowa last night. This morning we have traveled to Des Moines and then into Fairfield which is a cute little town in South central Iowa and also happens to be the home of one of our dearest friends, Sally Denny.

          Sally was a member of my choir during the short time we where in Hickory, North Carolina and she was a member of the Scotland tour choir this past June. ...
