Amitaklk stayed here on Feb 7, 2015 during their trip titled: My Great Adventure.
We started the morning exploring the east face of Steamboat to find the most spectacular views and some beautifully pitched runs. These new demo skis are the real deal. Love them, and decided not to switch them for our third and final day tomorrow. They make everything easy and quick to bail out of trouble in tough stuff. ... the free bus to and from the supermarket to stock up on food for the next couple of days. Whilst packing the next morning, we realised we must have left half the stuff at the checkout as we have no lunch! Fortunately, we are riding back that way as we need to drop into the computer shop, as the cable which connects iPhone, iPad and camera so we can upload photos to the blog is still not working. ... they get off the bus, and small children ride the bus alone without fear. The kids even thank the driver when they get off. So nice to see.
When we got there, there was an Ultra Marathon going on. Runners were running either a 100 mile or 50 mile run through the mountains and they were starting to finish when we got there. They had an area set up for the kids that included rappelling wall, bungee jumping, and my favorite, a huge ...
... the ice castle. The ice castle is a special attraction they have this year in Ski Time Square at the base of the mountain. It’s sort of rooms and passage ways made with ice and it has lighting which changes color at night.
Monday I had another all day lesson. My instructor was sick too and we both had low energy. We worked on easy trees and groomers on sunshine peak. We ate lunch at GPG. I got cider and chili.
