Amitaklk stayed here on Feb 7, 2015 during their trip titled: My Great Adventure.
- Woke up at 8:30
- Realized there was still so much to do
- Went to the Yampa River Core Trail to jog again
- Visited local event called Oktoberwest
-Participated in a meat eating contest
-Got so full that i couldnt go anywhere so i went to the motel room and fell asleep
... filthy shoes and socks - was a grim way to start the day, and our sleeping bags and panniers were covered in mud. Everything felt damp, but it had stopped raining. It took us about an hour to reach our high point (physically not emotionally) in Columbine before descending into Steamboat Springs. We stopped on the way at the Steamboat Lakes visitor centre and emptied our wallets of change in order to empty their vending machines of snacks. Not a dignified site to see us downing packets ...
... road the rest of the way to Steamboat Springs and I'm glad to report that it was indeed a beautiful drive...add it to all the rest of them! Arriving into Steamboat Springs we quickly understood it's appeal. ... snowed. I had lemon poppy seed pancakes and bacon and potatoes for my daily breakfast.
Today I went on a morning ski with guide Shannon and 2 other guests. We went to South Fork and did Figure 8. I was really tired, as I had come down with an annoying cold. So tired in fact that I changed my afternoon plan to tubing instead of skiing.
