      ... beautifully minimalist memorial and again another example of Germany’s ability to acknowledge and remember their history while taking a very reverent and understanding stance when it comes to all of the terrible things that have happened.

      ... few beers and kebobs or doners, as they are called in Germany, basically middle eastern wraps. The people watching was very entertaining on a Saturday afternoon. One highlight was a guy with a portable backpack hot dog grilling machine who wasn't very happy to have me take his picture. the picture is self explanatory....

      Another night in the hotbox and tomorrow we are off to Warsaw to visit Jason and Kristi, old Free Spirit friends from Hawaii...

      Along one road in the south of Berlin I took a wrong turn and to my horror was confronted by a KPMG building (Noli Me Tangere!). It was surprising since this did not seem like the business district of Berlin.

      ... it? Pretty gross. Their fast food places have a series of windows on the wall. You put your money in, open the window, and take your food out. One thing I had (admittedly my favourite) was essentially deep fried beef stew, but the stew is a puree consistency.
