... unbeknown to birthday boy, .........Alain the Chef had baked a birthday. cake (chocolate torte) and organised a barbecue on top deck of the boat for a celebration dinner party.

... and the shutters on the windows added to the colonial feel of the place.
Corsica is a French island but the overriding influence seemed to be Italian in my opinion. Whilst the locals all spoke French, the food and architecture seemed more in keeping with a quaint Italian sea-side town than a French city.

... ve been to London a few times before, we hadn't been there before. What an incredible place, it went for miles, along side streets, in alleys, old stables, up stairs, downstairs, passages etc. there were lots of stalls selling clothes, t shirts, Persian rugs, jewellery, paintings, as well as every conceivable cuisine. The food choices for lunch were unbelievable, with many stalls giving small free samples to help make up your mind. We had some chicken masala in naan bread ...
... vanilla custard. I have no room left for this bountiful fare! Then, suitcase out of the room by 11:00pm and sweet dreams until the morning when we leave this magnificent 6 star floating hotel. I could never have imagined just how amazing this cruise has been - in every way! This was the one and only day where we didn't stop off at any port. We certainly made the most of it :) A sleep in, a late breakfast on the terrace of the Collonade and then a massage for Libby @ 10:00.
