    ... to purchase tickets to get into the Gorge, but it was well worth it! The entire trail is either very well-maintained boardwalks or maintained trails, taking you deep into the gorge for picturesque, clear, pristine river/stream and its equally as stunning sheer walls and cliffs!

    The hike takes about 1.5 hours round trip and the pictures speak for themselves! It was a fantastic side trip as we made our way to Lake Bled!

    This evening we went on an excursion to Kumrovec, the hometown of Joseph Broz (also known as "Tita"). Tita was the elected president of the former Yugoslavia.  We learned that there are many in the 6 provinces of the former Yugoslavia that still have fond memories of Tita.  They are quick to point out that he was a socialist, not a communist, and truly wanted the best for his people.  He grew up very poor in a peasant community.  The poor ...

    ... to caves. Fascinating stories about how thieves used it as a homebase (and used their knowledge of the caves to defend from attacks) add to the intrigue - Skocjan caves. Wow. Just wow. This alone is worth the trip to Slovenia.
