... for their marriage - so much for that!

Day 2, we visited the beach and then biked around the Lake. What a great way to get around. We biked past former Yugoslav leader, Tito's personal summer home, and then through Bled Town where we met a very nice couple from the UK who regaled us with the story of their trip around the world (5 continents). Lunch followed on a (another) terrace on the ...

We took off from Salzburg and started our trek back to nature by passing through a very steep mountain pass replete with lots of long tunnels. Before heading into Lake Bled, we decided to take a stop off at Vintgar Gorge (about 2.5 miles north of Bled) and take Rick Steve's recommended hike (can you tell we really rely on this guy?!).

Good thing Americans coined the word selfie first. I mean, just imagine if the Germans had beat us to it--we'd have to ...

... to caves. Fascinating stories about how thieves used it as a homebase (and used their knowledge of the caves to defend from attacks) add to the intrigue - Skocjan caves. Wow. Just wow. This alone is worth the trip to Slovenia. Michelle thought like it looked like something out of Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, but I haven't seen those movies so I'll just confirm the caves are perfectly suited for sci-fi / fantasy and seem out of ...

Hello thank you for all the comments. Charlie and I have enjoyed reading them and writing this blog.

Yesterday we arrived in Slovenia stinkingly hot and lost in the city. It had reached 40 degrees. Charlie grabbed an organic Unsugared freshly squeezed lemonade which was thirst quenching and culturally educating as it turns out Ljubljana is a bit alternative and hippyish. The buildings from the station were covered in aimless graffiti and it all ...
