... to SJC today and marvelled again at the desert wind farms. Stopped at the Morongo Casino, an Indian-owned casino hotel in California to have a look around. Then drove via SteinMart at Irvine for a final shop, and had a look at the Irvine Spectrum Centre, a flashy mall and entertainment/ dining precinct. ... Café and had a nice, shady lunch. Yes, it’s still hot here. Hope you all in St. Louis are still enjoying the weather we were to have here! Not as bad as the temps at Disney, shadier park and fewer people, but it is still so humid here.

The first activity stop was a room with a large sculpture on a rotating disk, featuring the characters from “Toy Story.” Each character was repeated multiple times in different, ascending poses. As the disk turned, it just looked like a blur. But when a strobe light was added, it looked as though the characters were moving. Both kids were intrigued by that piece – very well done.

... when the center closes (3 times per day), we must clean every surface and toy that has been touched by the children. We are not allowed to bring out the game boards, games, or other activities because they cannot be cleaned properly. If we use playing cards we must throw them away afterwards. Hahaha. And of course the big concern is that we are NOT allowed in passenger areas unless we were with the children. Not ...
