We drove into the Old Town Historical Park in San Diego today, this area of San Diego has been colonized over the years by many countries. Today it has a very Mexican/Spanish influence. Missionary's were one of the first people to settle in this area, they built 21 missions, which served as the cornerstone of California's colonization in 1769. The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church built in 1865 built outside the mission system. The ...

Most of the antique cars were stile under wraps from the night before, but enough folks were dusting, polishing and revving up their engines to keep it entertaining.

    We headed off to ...

Although we spent a day in sea world we didn't really get to see San Diego at all so we decided to drive down again and explore the city of choice for many expat south africans. My theory is that south Africans have a good nose for a liveable city and San Diego is no exception. We found some great beaches and great views (ocean, seals and gorgeous sun bathers - ...

    GAME CHANGER

So it begins, preparations for our French & Spanish adventure 2012, "a game changer" as my Mom says. I have to agree with her. This is going to be a trip of a lifetime! One week in France (Paris, Bordeaux & Saint Jean Pied-de-port) followed by 5 weeks walking El Camino Santiago. We leave in T-4 weeks. I still need to find the perfect walking shoe and decide if I should buy a silk liner (very light sleeping bag) or carry a 6 ...
