We arrived in Santorini in time to watch the sunset from our deck. Our hotel is in Pyrgos, a small village in the center of the island. We have a one bedroom villa with a beautiful deck and views across Fira, Oia, and the water on both sides of the island. ...

I tried not to let it ruin a perfect day. It was ironic though – that very morning, I’d told Michelle that I wanted to upload my photos, as I hadn’t since Venice. Until 1979 when a wealthy ship owner built and donated a cable car system to transport visitors from the port to the town of Fira at the top of the cliffs, the only alternative was to walk up the ...

In our little hire car we go to a traditional village called Megalochori and explored it for a while. It was quiet, old, run down but gorgeous village and a lot of had unbelievable buildings and didn’t seem to have hardly anything open. We didn’t see many locals so it was quiet. We drove to Red Beach but didn’t go for a swim, its a beach below a very red mountain. We both have painful achilles so we kept driving. We went ...
