... was fantastic so we were able to sit outside and enjoy our sandwiches without discomfort. Our final morning, we awoke at 5am to drive back to Vienna in order to return our rental car and arrive on time for our bus to Ljubljana. After getting on the bus we realized that it also stopped in Graz, right in front of our hostel (so, 4 hours driving wasted). However, you win some you lose some. We are excited to be on our way to Slovenia!

We had lunch up the clock tower and took in the views of the city. We brought some padlocks that we wrote our names on & locked onto the bridge that goes over the river. (Lots of people do this - it's ...

We arrived in Graz on Sunday evening, for a few days' spent with Mr and Mrs Holland. Thanks to Mum and Dad for having us, and we had a great time. The weather was generally good, though with the rain showers regular enough to remind us what an ordinary summer central Europe has had, compared to normal.

We spent Sunday through to Friday with Mum and Dad, doing a few chores (the plum tree is ...

It was only drizzling when we came out so I am not sure if that counts. The climb up involved some serious stairs but it was well worth the views. The fortifications were destroyed by Napoleon in 180X, ...

The town has a central old quarter
which is remarkably preserved. The Holy Roman Emperor had a
residence here at one stage so the cathedral and many palaces of the
officials are suitable magnificent. This area, protected by the
overlooking schloss, survive the 2nd ww bombing but large
swathes of the surrounding residential area were destroyed.
The tourist office runs a walking tour
around the old city which worked really well for us as it ...
