We rented a car for a day and went for a beautiful drive. Scary at times because it was so narrow and you would accross a bus.... I closed my eyes for that part! The food was delicious and the people super nice.
Had a great time!
This summer I went to the Canary Islands with my friends. We did a lot of things there; we went to the swimming pool, partying, to the dune beach, and to the aqua park party...
Also, one day we went to one beach where there were a lot of water sports and we practised the motorskying, parasailing and a los of things.
Finally we come back to Spain with hangovers and our bodies very pained becouse we fell many ...
... the week we attended a number of events including a “masked ball” which was great fun.
The atmosphere here is one of excitement and anticipation. We can’t wait to get started!
Our start is midday Tuesday and so we will probably be sending our next blog later on Tuesday or during Wednesday.

After recovering from a serious number of pre-race parties, I decided to attend some of the many arc seminars covering provisioning, routing and weather, rigging - apparently chaffing is the enemy, and a fantastic seminar by norwegian born Jimmy Cornell - who started the ARC some 25 years ago! The mood amongst the crew is one of excited anticipation, as we mentally ready ourselves for the sight of land, showers and RUM! We sailed throughout the night, keeping the boat as steady as possible so that each watch could get some sleep, while the watch crew enjoyed the beautiful clear starry sky and the sparkling phosphorescence the is bubbling around our wake.
