Whenever we deal with real breathing and moving human beings, though, we just have to ask them to bear with us, at least as long as our Latvian is limited to "es gribu tēju" (I want tea). Some grown ups are quite startled when we announce that we only speak English, but most young volunteers and kids actually seem quite OK with practising their English.
