Tarifa and the nearby towns towards Portugal have a more laid back feel than many of the others on this coast which is a welcome break. As Tarifa is on the southern tip of this peninsular it's often very breezy, sun worshipers get sand blasted so not really suitable for package tourism which may explain the laid back feel.
