Took it easy in Paraty. Got a local bus to the village of Trindade yesterday morning (Fri) which is 40 mins down the road. Another memorable bus journey, driver was flying it (the one on the way back was even faster). Went to the beach there (which, yet again, involved a minor trek - in flip flops this time) and sat in the shade. Crispy Conneely...

Finally arrived at Rio de Janeiro at 11:30. Boy, was that a long journey! We didn't think it was worth spending money on a hotel for literally four hours so we got a cab straight to Campo Grande airport and hung around until our flight at 05:00.
