... slope and an odd series of caves that didn't seem to jive with the rest of their surroundings. It soon became evident that they were a function of a long-running aqueduct that ran many feet above the river itself. We later learned that the aqueduct provided most of the water for the nearby town of Konitsa though since the water was running fast and deep it didn't necessarily seem necessary for there to be an aqueduct at that location.

Taking our time enjoying the scene, by the time we finished Ioannina had gone all Sevilla on us and was throbbing with activity and the people parading before us were going up and down and we sometimes saw the same people two or even three times.
