Without getting lost again they caught the 6:00 p.m. vaporetta back to Piazza San Marco where they realised they had not yet been on a gondola ride. Something Battery Boy said was going to be too touristy for him but after the thirty minutes silently gliding through the canals giving another perspective of Venice he disembarked from the gondola confessing he enjoyed the whole experience. ...

... of the bridges to get into the dungeon was the Bridge of Sighs. We also did a lot of shopping and ate gelato, to get our fill before we leave. We also visited St. Mark's Square which is an amazing sight! There are huge statues and buildings with ornate detail!
We loved the atmosphere with mini bands playing Italian music at many of the outdoor restaurants. What a place this is!

So it was just Sandy and I in this plush private water taxi with leather seats etc on a cruise through the canals of Venice and then a fast plough through the choppy open waters to the island of Murano. The trip took about half an hour.

... a 6am start we all knock out fairly quickly. Today was another packed day with a demonstration of murano glass blowing, lace making and a visit to the Burano island. A visit to Venice is also not complete without a gondola ride and this morning we welcome the warmth and sun as we glide trough the tranquil waters and canals. It was then time for lunch.
