... enormous churches, quiet garden piazzas, and getting sore legs. We got home just before Simone, and once she got home we embarked on a new mission: To get good pizza in Italy.

We walked, seemingly forever, until we got to the pizza place that Simone liked, and for some reason there were about 20 teenage girls milling around the entrance. The pizzas were much, much better than we've had elsewhere in Italy - but I have to say - nothing beats Chicken Peri Peri from Crust back ...

... as glass so I didn't feel like I was still on a boat five hours after being on shore. We strolled around the alleyways and canals until coming across an elderly woman who invited us into her home for aperitif. I have no idea what to expect to find in a Venetian home, but it is as quaint and historic as I thought it would be. ... they had my favorite! Moechi....soft shelled crab! It quickly became Suzie's favorite! Suzie had a large bowl of clams and we shared 2 types of fish, see bass and orata! This was followed by dessert wine and busola(secret recipe on Murano which you do not get very often)! Maurizio and Sergio joined us halfway thru our meal. We had many laughs! ... day... this really upset Amruth but as luck would have it, one of the gondola guys offered to take us for a ride at a special price.

True to its word the Gondola is quite an experience especially during dark when there is total silence all around you and dark shadows and silhouettes of buildings make it look like a scene out of a suspense movie.

Our first day thus ended and it was time to take rest !

Our Sailaway through the Grande Canal was beautiful, and ending a thoroughly enjoyable 2 days in Venice.

Enjoying your comments and catching up with all your activities from home...not much information about Australia on board..
