Hill where it seemed all of Townsville uses after work to do their exercise.
There are no foot paths and there are cars and people going up the narrow windy
2.9km road to the lookouts. Castle Hill has an elevation of 286m, it is a
natural reserve right in the centre of Townsville and looks like a rock jutting
out of the ground, with houses built in to the sides of it.

Heather's bunk bed mate was worse. Every time she turned over her bed made this ...

... that winds along the beach for a couple of kilometres. There is a fishing jetty, an ocean pool, fitness apparatus, coffee shops, a couple of small kiosks and a pub or two. The ocean is really off limits due to stingers...... Everywhere along the beach are signs warning people of stingers, identification signs (ie: which jelly fish/stinger got me??? ) and vinegar stations strategically placed for the poor saps that get stung! ...

... one night stopover there. Saturday morning we caught the ferry over to 'Maggie' as it's known locally. I can honestly say I was more impressed with this island than the supposed paradise of koh phi phi in Thailand! We hired a 4x4 which was handy as the island was over 15 km long and had lots of off road tracks and mountainous roads so we explored the little bays and walking tracks quite easily whereas a lot of people just stay at the hostel and can't really do much so we felt ...
