... warm gin whilst watching Brazil vs Chile.

When the new day dawned and we got out to have a look, KK seemed a very reasonable place. Higher Muslim population judging from the number of headscarves, but no feeling that Sharia law is about to be enforced. Beer's not cheap though, unfortunately.

iPhone activated, maps consulted, and a plan to go to Manukan Island made, one of the local beach spots. A few moody DVDs for the kids ...

... always have to buy a bunch of 15 bananas when I really can only manage to eat three?! I know it only costs 10p for the flippin bunch, but really? No, I have to buy and take away a whole bunch and no, even though I pay for them all, they won't take back 12 from me! Haha, this happens every single time, even in Cambodia with Niki! So I ate three and the village kids were given the rest as I rode on through! Strange state of affairs! I wasn't getting very far ...

... and there, which was a nice treat. After the very challenging hike we treated our sore legs in the hot springs. It was so nice to chill out - legs were absolutely killing me, it was painful to move and stairs caused pure agony. We chilled out in the waterfall in the ice cold water and then sitting in the hot bath. Exactly what we needed! ... nearby cave, Deer cave, the biggest cave passage in the world....and the worlds largest bat colony. Again it was truly amazing as we got to head deeper into the cave. Even with the brightest setting on our head torches it was difficult to judge just how far the cave expanded, after an hour of looking around we needed to head back to the viewing point just in front of the cave for the bat exodus.
