... I was riding a scooter. I have lived in Thailand for 5 years, I speak reasonable Thai, I have a Thai drivers license, I had 10k baht in cash on me, I had Thai helpers on the outside who know police and were able to plead my case to all levels of police. None of this helped me get processed any faster or dealt with any better. Not that would expect it too – but just as advice for those farang who think they are “special” I have no complaints – I was guilty. ...

... who flung strings of flowers around their necks as they greeted them. We also noticed the huge number of 40-70 year old single white men. Shortly after that we noticed a few of those men had very young very pretty thai girls attached to them. I knew we’d see a bit of this but didn’t expect it to be quite this often and at the airport too! With our new room came a new free breakfast! We received two "sausages" (over processed hot dogs, disgusting), an egg, two pieces of branded toast, butter, jam and coffee. I took the branded toast to be instructions; I used the smiley face toast with butter and my sunny-side-up egg. I used the coffee cup toast with butter and jam to eat with my coffee!

We decided to go to the small coastal town of Sriracha, known for the rooster Si Racha sauce we use here ...

Not just a beachside town

... city is very grimy and the beach is almost destroyed by trash and scam artists trying to rent out jet ski's (just google jet ski scam). The attitude between the Thai's and foreigners, or "Farangs" in this area is very bad due to the criminal element imposed on this area. Apparently the town is pretty much controled by the russian mafia but i dont know how true that is.

I was very much happy to leave Pattaya and get back to Bangkok.
