    Value for money

Clean rooms, hot coffee and very odd bathrooms. Staff here are the nicest so far on our journey. Budget, no pool, restaurant only open after 5. Very good value for money, has fountains and outdoor areas, good aircon, fairly good wifi, lots of restaurants in area, walking distance to water palace.
If you stay here you must check out kedais restaurant 600 m up the road and over the crossing into Jalan Tirtodipuran. It's unbelievable.

Nice room, really awesome bathroom and beautifull garden. There's a can with hot water for tea or coffee outside the room every morning. The location is good, close to the kraton, saras wati temple and the bird market.

Although you may have read all about the Khmer Rouge, and the genocide, nothing prepares you for what you are about to see and read. So, S21 was a school that was converted to a prison where 21000 people were jailed, tortured and executed during the less than four year period. This sentence tell you nothing until you ...

To the east two live volcanoes less than 20 kilometers away occasionally belch tons of ash over the monument (most recently just four years ago), while to the south an impressive mountain ridge in the shape of a sleeping man is nicknamed “Borobudur’s architect” and named, in Sanskrit, Kuna Dharma. Borobudur was buried in volcanic ash and jungle for close to a thousand years, but today it is a ...

    Temples, Meditation and Palaces

We did some basic stretches and about 10 minutes of meditation while Sandi transferred energy to us. Although it sounds silly writing it down, this is something Sandi truly believes in, to the point where he apparently cured his wife's cervical cancer! It may be silly but it's renewed my interest in meditation and spent a very pleasant 20 ...

I took his suggestion to head to a local Batik art school where I could see how their Batik paintings were created. It was a really timely process. They used silk, or to make it cheaper, cotton, and first of all drew their design on the material. The timely part was ...
