... also heard the history of the design and building of the Opera House. By now we were in need of a sit down ..so walked along to Circular Quay and caught a ferry back to Darling Harbour. It was late in the afternoon and getting dark by the time we got back to the hotel.

We now have been upgraded to a large room with a view over the harbour which is lovely. Tonight we had our dinner at the hotel as we had had enough walking for one day!

Day 1 (Sunday): Having a late flight made packing easy .... somehow I weighed Anne in at 23kg but it managed to grow to 25kg by the time we got to the airport ..... hmmm ! Having one of those vac bags was useful ..... or scary as Annie thought it just gave her more room! Never enjoy ...

... hair and I was pulling at the clumps like trying to slide them down my hair but this was taking forever. Then it struck me to put conditioner in my hair as the banana would then slide out - nope, that didn't work. I tried it again, but it just wasn't happening.

... It was a long walk up George Street and by the time we made it to Circular Quay we were thirsty and tired. We got Starbucks and then walked over to Customs House. Customs House is literally the old customs building which has now been turned into a library and cool little hangout. It also has free wifi so we hung out there until dinner time.

... lovely parks modeled after the great ones of London, the royal crest is on everything, and of course, the iconic bridge and opera house. It's hard to imagine that Australia was basically created because the UK had too many bad guys and needed to ship them off to a land far, far away.
