    ... apprentice of Robin Hood. We reluctantly head away from Alnwick to our lodging at the Hope and Anchor Pub at Alnmouth about 9 km away. We are delighted to be at a delightful 18/19th century coastal town locked in time needing only cobblestones to complete it. Our host is a 20 year old Adam who is ambitious but down to earth. The music is good, the beer and wine even better and we are eating beautiful shoulder lamb and a mushroom risotto and it is not yet 6 ...

    ... a must have with every meal for the locals, some form of potato, so we chose one new potatoes and a serve of chips. We weren't able to buy sparkling or still wine by the glass, so a bottle it had be, fortunately I had my trusty stopper in the car, to keep the bubbles in the prosecco! The bottle ended up being consumed as the couple near us were celebrating their wedding anniversary also, so I gave the remainder to ...

    ... cases jammed in 'em. They were asking for co-operation for people to place smaller bags at their feet so we don't incur a delay when we might have to offload some hand luggage into the hold to free up some room. Thankfully we didn't have to do that, but still.

    Right, so bags are unpacked, washing is in, and I have a cuppa in my hand. I'm still covered in bites, but I had a fantastic couple of weeks! When's the next adventure? ;) ...

    We headed for Rosslyn this morning. It's a beautiful sunny morning and our spirits are high as we embark on yet another adventure!. Rosslyn Church is supposedly where the 'Holy Grail' and Templar Knights are buried. It's a beautiful old church. We had a look at the really old Kirk and listened to a fellow talking about the church. We then headed off for York. It's taken about 4 hours, we were hoping to find Yorkshire historic walls.
