The night before
School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.
The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.
We've got so many exciting new experiences ahead of us crammed into a 7 week trip. South East Asia here we come!

... was 5:45 a.m. We had a knock at the door at 5:40, not quite ready had a nervous rush on, despite a calm morning. I was greeted by a lady claiming to be the taxi driver. All seemed nice at first, but after precisely 16 seconds her persona changed to very frustrated and asked, "what time is the flight?" Of course I had no idea so asked Charlotte..."10:30". According to the map, Liverpool, on the Mersey River, was just a few hours north of Bath, but with flooded rail tracks, getting there proved to be a major headache. ... machine which was pretty funny. Today went back into the city and checked out the maritime museum as they had a 100th anniversary of the sinking of the titanic exhibit which was really cool. Had a quick goosey gander in the museum then wandered along the harbour to the Atlantic monument then back into the city taking pics here and there. Here we are on the train back to London. We must have walked about an hour or so, and since it was Uncle Daves golf day we went back home to relax for a little while. I ended up curling up on the couch, watching "You've got mail" while I booked my train/ hostels for Scotland.
