A beautiful day in the Canary Islands

A travel blog entry by alim58

We have had a fabulous day in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. I can see why the British come here for their holidays. It's peaceful, clean, friendly, picturesque and there's no rip off merchants! Well none we saw, could be too early in the season? In the middle of the island there is a huge mountain (volcanoe) that had snow on a good portion of it! We left on a bus at 8.30 am to visit the Parrot Park- Lore Park- which has birds from all over the world there including Kea's and Emu! Not ...

This is a major port for these islands with many container ships sitting off shore waiting to be unloaded. We watched ...

The sun was shining as we left the ship and travelled ...

A day at Sea en route to Senegal

We usually have a cabin in the Forward part of the ship & often feel the movement of the ship quite a bit, but this trip we are Mid Ship, and so far really calm seas and very little movement has meant a good nights sleep. The really comfy bed helps too.The restaurant wasn't that busy at 8.30 and the waiter showed us to a table near the window, in a cheeky voice he said "You are special guests so I will give you a table with a sea view" well of course on ...
