... num num nummmm! The restaurant was called ICM which apparently stands for I Care More. Strange name, GREAT food! We shared a bowl of chowder and I got a seafood salad and Mike got a crab sandwich and a salad. To die for!!! Several other travelers showed up, pets in tow (or maybe they were being towed by the pets) for lunch. We all ended up chatting about our for legged family members and where we were ...

I am not a great thinker nor am I a great writer, so at times (or most time) this may come off sounding a bit simplistic and ...

... from the photos the huge stock piles along the river. Mt St Helen's last erupted in 1980 and basically blew half of the side of the mountain out. Several people were killed including the chap who was monitoring the activity at the base of the mountain. His last words were " Base,Base it's happening". Pretty awful seeing this guys last words. This was prior to the intricate monitoring that is available today to predict activity. The Mt ...

... is the mind-bogglingly enormous gap in the north side of the caldera. So vast is that hole that the caldera looks more like a rounded valley or enormous cirque now than a caldera, complete with a glacier. This effect may have been exaggerated by the series of eruptions since 1980 that have pushed a large cone of magma up in the centre of the caldera to a height greater than the Empire State building, largely filling the (roughly and from memory) 2 ...
