    Getting it wrong...

    ... we knew the map wasn’t to scale. So we bounded off into the forest along this trail.

    The description provided in the leaflet said that the trail should go steeply uphill, which it did. It also showed a path joining from the right quite quickly after setting off, which it did. It’s final key detail was that the path would follow a long left turn, before kinking right and joining the short 0.3 mile path we intended to take.

    Hi very one, well I've finally got enough of a signal to get this blog out and update everyone on what is happening with us so far.

    We've been here for three weeks now and we've had rain most every day, in fact we've only had I think 4 or 5 days of sun. If it has not rained it has been Gray and overcast. Things are very green and lush with moss growing on the ground, trees and rocks.

    ... of the blast. The nearest ones were pulverised and others merely snapped. As the blast wave lost its force the forest was merely cooked, dead trees standing seemingly unharmed. Over 600 sq km of forest was obliterated. The place is slightly eerie.
