... so no pics will do it justice (I took video though). So instead of a snow pic, I have attached a special photo I took today at the zoo.

Then after that excitement I got the funicular up to the fortress and my battery died after 3 photos so they are not very good but it was worth it to get a video of the Pumas.

Now am hoping for some sun tomorrow which is my last day in Salzburg. I wanna see those magnificent mountains.

The last tiny patch of blue sky I saw poking through clouds was in London, but haven't seen the orb since I left home. I'm doing the touristy places tomorrow so hopefully I will have some amazing views ahead of me.

... there was only one Hertz person there, and there was an older couple ahead of us taking forever to decide on insurance options. Plus, the Hertz person had to go get the car and then drive it over for them to pick it up. But at least they had some seats while we were waiting!

When we finally got our car, Derek was driving and Dad was navigating. It took quite a while to get outside of Salzburg, but once we did we were on two-laned, tree-lined roads most ...

... Residenz was the former royal palace of the House of Wittlesbach. The complex of grand residential buildings, stables, church, barracks, courtyards, gardens, theatre and eventually antiquarium (museum) was the result of continuous expansion over the generations. The rulers also felt the need to protect themselves from both the rebellious city dwellers and their warlike relatives.
