One of the highlights of Prague is a visit to the old Jewish Quarter. There you can visit a number of old Synagogues which have displays of different aspects of Jewish life, as well as the old Jewish Cemetery which was closed in the late 1700s. Local settlers only ventured to go there if they felt endangered in their homes as they could find refuge in the narrow gorges and caves of the rock area. Only around 1700, the first tourists and hikers began to come here from ...

This was a visiting day: we saw some of Monika's relatives. Later in the afternoon we drove about 125 miles to her home town of Chocen to stay with her parents until Sunday. The weather keeps getting hotter and the forecast is hotter still!
