    ... however from Pompeii to Maiori was spectacular - right over the mountains on the most twisty hairpin road you have ever seen, with amazing views on every bend - "watch the road not the view" Donna kept shouting to me !!

    We sat on our balcony in awe and drank a bottle of sparking wine and after an hour the sun slowly set behind the hill, giving a glorious evening light.

    ... ended up on the road less travelled! In other words we were a little bit lost. Eventually after traipsing through farms and fields we ended up at the top of Praiano! Not quite where we were meant to be. We were ready to send out flares but somehow stumbled down the hill into a hotel where they called us a water taxi!!!!     ... spot a nice one, we see a hotel that looks connected with the beach, go to ask them if we can use the beach. They tell us they don't usually allow access, we offered to pay, still no was the answer. He tells us there is a way down, but he doesn't recommend using the steps, too dangerous.
