      ... us a strange moment this morning, as I said it's very modern, with shutters working electronically, radio buttons beside the bed etc, this morning I got up to have a shower and pulled a cord in the bathroom. Apparently it was an emergency cord, I thought it was an extractor fan, so the telephone went asking "is there an emergency ?" It's like the sign in the lift on china - "no random pushing of buttons !"

      ... 9 hours in my legs. I had advised Jo that the first 1000m would be easy and the last 200/300m would prove the real challenge. I was proven right on this occasion as the car had no issues making the first 1000m in record time, thanks to our driver. As we began our climb I could see Jo was wishing for a pair of trainers as I walked with ease out front and she already had stones under her toes. Jo blames me for getting her walking shoes soaked the previous day, ...

      ... where this path leads. I finally make it and thank god for the water fountain in the piazza. I stop and rest, taking in the view and the silence before making my way back down, what I am later told is 2000 steps...thank goodness it's easier going down....

      ... tomorrow, get a map of town and set out to find our BNB. The road signs are not real clear and we walk up some steps, than along the only road we see leaving the marina in our general direction. We see a long flight of stairs that looks like it goes to the next level of roads so we take it. Then around the bend on that road to a square and I know where we are on the map.
