    ... a nice drive and we found free parking which is always a bonus. Walked into the lovely old town, see pictures, then we heard trumpets start, so we headed to the Piazza and drums beat, trumpets sounded from the band and all the men in coloured outfits and flags arrived, we were treated to half an hour of a fantastic spectacle.     ... Visited St Anastasia church, the largest in Verona. It is beautiful inside with the vaulted ceiling covered in frescoes, yet the rest of it was relatively plain compared to some we have seen. Designed and built by Dominican friars, begun in 1290 and finished early 16thC, though the façade was never finished. There was a service going on so could not explore it fully, but could just look.
