      ... the temple in the evening, lie, etc.. We were surprised about the 'no food after noon' part; Mark explained that drinks were permitted. Because he is an ex-novice, Mark's English is excellent so we were able to ask him some fairly complex questions. We asked about what age people can buy alcohol in Laos, having been surprised to have seen two children drinking Beer Lao in public yesterday evening. Mark answered that if you have money, you can be sold alcohol. Age is not ...

      It was inevitable we were going to have slept the whole day. We surfaced around 3pm, hitting the night market for some food and a spot of shopping. We bumped into Josh and Sam who had only just ventured out too.
