    ... day trip to Pula. We wove through windy roads amidst olive fields and grapevines. Istria is the name of this region and its known for both its wine and olive oil.

    ... down the quay.

    Tomorrow, we have a travel day. We set out at 4:40 am and will transfer buses at Rijeka. From there we will go to Zadar, another lovely city down the Dalmatian coast. We plan on spending a couple of weeks exploring this coast. It's time to slow it down a bit and enjoy the guilty pleasure of global warming's effects. The weather should be in the 10 -15 C range (50 - 60 F).

    ... today it just was not the same. Just as I said earlier, am I getting bored with great scenery or is it simply the weather.

    I did stop on a number of occasions for photos but the light was not good.

    The speed on this road is not fast as one can imagine and it passes through a number of small towns to which many of them have wonderful little stone piers built out of natural stone which look really beautiful.

    ... but hey it was spacious and clean. The young chap that checked us in gave us a map and directions into the old town. We settled into our room and then headed out to find some food, we were starving! The old town was only about a 5 minute walk away and we found it easily.     ... a hint of dried saliva taste. Although my palate is not as sensitive as hers, I also did not see what the fuss was about. The nearly abandoned nearby village of Kotli was worth a quick visit; the entire village appeared to be for sale.
