... day trip to Pula. We wove through windy roads amidst olive fields and grapevines. Istria is the name of this region and its known for both its wine and olive oil.

The day was sunny and warm in early December and we got some great photos of the amphitheater. There's a $8 charge to get in, but you actually get better views from walking around outside. The views are unobstructed, so we ...

Tomorrow, we have a travel day. We set out at 4:40 am and will transfer buses at Rijeka. From there we will go to Zadar, another lovely city down the Dalmatian coast. The weather should be in the 10 -15 C range (50 - 60 F).

... back to our room to chill and change before dinner. We decided to have dinner in the old town because it was our last night. So we walked around for a while trying to find somewhere that looked nice but not too exy either. We stumbled across a great little place called Temple. It was perfect! We got bruschetta with tomatoes, goats cheese and prosciutto as an entree. It was ahhhhmazing. Definitely going to make our own when we get back home. Darcy wasn't ...

We did an audio tour which explained the history of this dramatic structure. The outer walls and the chambers beneath the arena are remarkably intact despite the pilfering of stones over the centuries for other buildings.(pics) We then took a 2 hour cruise around the Biranji Islands , it was relaxing a relaxing afternoon.
