Sorry, I don't have any sordid stories to tell about Las Vegas. (And even if I did, this wouldn't be the place for it.) :-)

On Wednesday I flew to Las Vegas. It's much warmer here than in San Francisco. A bit like Sydney in the summer I guess. I'm staying in The Stratosphere, a hotel on the north side of 'the Strip'. Not as much noise at night, so I can get enough sleep, and still not too far from all the excitement should I have a craving for that. ...

After an hour of trying to work out how the room worked we headed to the strip in search of the famous Vegas all you can eat buffet but at midnight there was no chance so instead found a chicken restaurant. The strip is a interesting place with a lot to look at. There's the oversize flashy neon lights, opulent architecture like the giant Caesars palace with huge Greek pillars then hobos broke, drunk and ruined by the Vegas ...

... gambling! Well after about 10 minutes we had run out of money on the tables and decided we best lower our expectations and play on the 1 cent machines. We did a little better here and managed to make about 15 dollars between us...woo hoo! In the evening we went for dinner with the winnings.

The next day we got back on a plane to go to dallas and then took another one to our new home for the next month, Cost Rica. ...

5 people, 1 small car, 1200 miles in three days, 20 hours of walking, 5 hours of sleep per night, plenty of beers, playing roulette,easy hold'em, black jacks and machines in half a dozen different casinos, visiting Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, having lunch in the unhealthiest restaurant ever. Las Vegas rocks!! ...

... ve been in a casino with that many people in it. It made New York city feel like a country town !!. The hotel / casino is huge – luckily there are signs every now and then to tell people where to go. After walking for what seemed like a while, we found the KA Theatre and got our seats - great seats too.

Like all Cirque du Soleil shows, the cast mingles a bit with the audience ...
