Our Encounter with the Local Constabulary
Elenka met Renate from Germany on beautiful Kuta Beach 24 years ago. They have been friends ever since and Renate flew to Indonesia to meet up with us. She and Elenka wanted to see how Indonesia and its wonderful inhabitants might have changed after almost a quarter of a century. Back then, leaving Kuta for the country-side was a 10 minute car ride …
Bali Baby
Day 6- onto BaliI was eagerly waiting for Bali and the reduced expenses the rest of the Asia trip would have until Japan was reached in 3 months. $40 taxi rides and $15 fast food meals were already taking a toll. So I was looking forward to my deluxe room with a/c at my hotel and the lovely beaches of Bali. Hour long massages were only $6, so after …

... Chris wasn't too happy I dragged him shopping! We had a really good evening in another roof top bar that had a local band playing - they were fab & took requests - they sang under the bridge by Red Hot Chilli Peppers for us! Our last night we went to a Mediterranean Ibiza style bar & had tapas (again)!
We didn't sight see as much as we could have done in Bali however we had a really relaxing week & there's more of a excuse to go back there now!!

De stad zelf wordt nog bestuurd door een sultan en zijn paleis kan je bezoeken, verder was het ook best een leuke stad om gewoon een beetje rond te lopen. Ik had ...

Great place for the price. 5 minute walk to Kuta beach, 5 minute walk to the nightlife. Decent little pool and great 2nd floor restaurant. Rooms were big and clean. Bathrooms however had big open window to the outside so mozzies made bathroom visits short and sweet. Otherwise great place, will stay here on next Bali visit probably
