Great place for the price. 5 minute walk to Kuta beach, 5 minute walk to the nightlife. Decent little pool and great 2nd floor restaurant. Rooms were big and clean. Bathrooms however had big open window to the outside so mozzies made bathroom visits short and sweet. Otherwise great place, will stay here on next Bali visit probably

The conditions were not ideal for cowabunga times so we will need to do some better planning next time. Amber did spend most of the time however expecting to get papped by the paparazzi as she thinks she is a celebrity now that we have a chef and she is an Indonesian millionaire. Wednesday ...

... buzzing with mopeds appearing from all angles. Having also been warned about a rabies epidemic in Bali we were also keen to avoid all the stray dogs, having been too late for a rabies vaccination before we left. Our first encounter was with a vicious *****! She had a small litter of puppies and was keen for us to not be there, we gave her a wide berth and carried on unscathed.

It was quite unnerving walking down the narrow but busy ...

... ride finishes with a meander around the pool in the rain, and I'm hoping mine is not going to lay down and roll like the other elephants in the pool that didn't have riders.

We have a lovely smorgasbord lunch and then watch a short but fascinating elephant show. They kick balls, put balls in hoops, paint with paint brushes, pick up objects and place them elsewhere, and demonstrate they can sit on a log.

Next we drive to the river, get ...

... m going home. As I write I look out to the emerald green rice paddies and to the right lies a vast, dense jungle. It’s soo quiet, only the sounds of nature speak. I’ve arrived back in Indonesia where I feel the most alive I’ve felt in months. I reflect on this journey as I feel its’ just begun and also coming to an end….or a visit from the past shall I say. I soon will depart well traveled Asian lands….and will rest my backpack within ...
