... picked up the phone to call someone, i was soon put onto a hotel manager who spoke english but could not understand what i wanted when i asked for a safe key, "you want an extra room key"? She said. Only after I said storing valuables did she finally catch on, she relayed what i wanted to the older lady, and I got a key for the safe. We thought we would check out the area around us and get some washing done. We searched unsuccessfully ...

... wedding, which (just so that you understand how complicated it all was) included a legalised, apostilled, officially translated copy of my birth certificate, copies & originals of all parents & witnesses' IDs and visas, a proof of address for Queretaro (where we didn't live) & medical tests & certificates to prove neither of us had AIDS or any other nasty diseases which could be dated no more than 2 weeks prior ...

... and director of Mexican cinema. This grand hacienda had been adorned with shrines for friends and past visitors of the actor, which are linked to Dia de Los Muertos celebrations.

My wonderful weekend is closed by drinking Mexican tequila (real tequila!), which is sipped and combined with a slice of lime, plus a long drink mixed with grapefruit juice in a glass rimmed with salt. Really delicious, and turning me back into a tequila ...

Everything has reached hysteria levels in the Southampton ACABRITS camp. Unexplained fits of giggles and inexplicably weird behaviour ... but we are blaming it on the altitude. So if this blog post makes little sense, like most things that I have said today, I'm blaming it on the latitude.

The Anglo Foundation (where 6 of the Southampton girls and token boy will be working) have been treating us for the last couple of days ...
