ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.

... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city I´d love to visit once a year minimum.....

... at the Monte Carlo Casino. Mark was super keen on feeling like James Bond. He so wishes he was James Bond. It is kind of odd because once you are in the casino it is really quiet and not busy at all. Mark won about 300 euro so we were happy.

We checked out the start and finish line of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, along with the famous hairpin turn. Even the locals fang it around that corner.

Speaking of shopping, although Nice is very laid back, it also has lots and lots of shmancy shops as well... there's a strip near the beach with everything from Hermes to Dolce and all in between... Dee contemplated a bit of retail therapy there and then decided maybe not.... It reminded ...

... to the fun, but we managed to get down to the water front parking lot and wander up the car-free walkways looking for restaurants. There a row of restaurants right across from the yacht port dock and I’m sure they provide great meals, but they all come off a bit stuffy. Old money stuffy. In Nice for the afternoon so Eric can go to his interview. I really like this city, its quite charming, though I imagine in summer it would be very crowded and a completely different experience. Had dinner at a really good Italian restaurant with desserts so huge you think they are for 4 people but they are for 1. Back to Aix tonight.

... out was invented in Nice - so the dinner was quite local! After dinner we strolled along the beach along the waterfront and took a few night shots of the village and called it a night. Tomorrow we are going to Eze and then to Monaco. Ryan is thrilled to learn today that Monaco is an independent country so we can add another country to our list!
