    It's hard for a visitor not to be confused or even to conclude that the Ukraine – or at least the corner of the Crimea that we’re visiting – isn’t suffering from a severe identity crisis!     ... the Alupaka Palace was closed (without warning or advice) as there were 'important dignitaries visiting for the day. Then it was off to Livadia Palace -'they do have a lot of palaces I must say! Livadia Palace has been the summer home of of Russian tsar's since the 1860's.     ... yes, a peacock), an owl, a falcon and a fluffy rabbit. You can have your photo taken with them. Er, no thanks. After 15-20mins of huffing and puffing and passing every souvenir stall known to man, a hot and sticky Englishman arrives at the Swallow's Nest. Surprisingly small. The only way inside is to pay a fee for the Salvador Dali exhibition, it's a fairly basic interior.
