Saratoga Springs, NY, has one of the oldest horse racing courses in the country, and it's right in town along with an equestrian museum and hall of fame. I expect Brenda will trot me right on over there. Coming into town we passed the Spa State Park, featuring mineral springs and "geyser-like spouters." I can **********tain myself. Outside of town there's an Historical Park with a 3200 acre Revolutionary War battlefield. AND, there's a car museum! What a cool town! ...
... to see some of the local people enjoying their lovely natural attraction. Then we made our way to Stewart's for some coffee - that turned into milk shake and root beer float. We discovered the Stewart's was pretty much on Rt 9N so Otto headed north to Saranac and I headed south to Saratoga from there.
Another lovely paddle - I really enjoyed the Hudson - it felt so good to be on the water with the breeze blowing and the cool water dripping off my paddle.

It's the crack of dawn, we are up…10am, we are off, hot and humid, breaking unit on
the Honda not working. We called manufacturer and arranged for a new one to be
delivered to Cranberry Lake. We just happen to meet Ken and Denise at Route 4,
exit one I89 in Vermont and ...
... We are camped at the Battlefield State Park right by Lake George. Walked down to the lake after dinner and took in the sights. No electric here, so we're calling it a night and getting up at the crack of dawn to head to Niagara Falls.
Hope you all enjoy our travels along with us!
Yesterday we took a drive to Lake Placid, site of the 1980 Olympics (also 1932). It was really crowded with people so it must be the place to get away from it all. We just had lunch and then drove around a bit. The Adirondacks is a beautiful area that is heavily forested and has lots of lakes. The mountains are not as high as we are used to. Today we just relaxed a bit and explored the area around our campground.
Tomorrow we are off to Vermont.
