    Sailing south to Malaysia

We have another day at sea as we backtrack south from Myanmar to Malaysia and finally to our port of disembarkation, Singapore. After some hectic touring by bus, taxi and on foot in the dusty towns and cities of Burma (very dusty - even the trees are coated in dust), we're quite enjoying these "sea days", relaxing on lounges on the outside decks of the ship - reading - napping - or just watching the sea go by. ... good variety but there were a couple of greedy families who took the majority and hardly left anyone with anything. There were a particular Arabian couple who were on our minibus and were rude from the get go, stuck there noses up at everyone and would always push in front of you. ... snorkel, and took a leap (of faith) from the back of the boat.

The world I entered into was unbelievable.

I was expecting to see maybe a few fish swimming near the bottom of the water. What I had actually entered into was a swarm of friendly fish who wanted to play.

As I floated over giant mounds of coral, colorful fish swam up to me, then darted away when I reached out a hand.

    I saw "Dori" fish. I ...

    What we've been up to

... re locked into a little dump whose only redeeming attribute is easy beach access. It's been raining for the past week pretty much every day, so not as much fun to get out and about. There are a few bright spots; we did a fun boat tour around the tip of Phuket and up to a lovely beach to a great restaurant on the water. The weather was very gray, but just being out on the water was nice, and the group was small ...
