After the 8 hour journey we just wanted to get to a hotel room and rest. The first hotel in the book turned out to be a failure and they were fully booked, so on to the next one in the book which was on the other side of the station. We decided to get a cycle rickshaw to the other side as we had our massive bags and didn’t want to further knacker ourselves out.

Many have often indicated to us that one of the barriers to travelling in India would be the (wrongly held view about) accommodation. Friends have suggested that quite inferior hotels etc would be the norm. How wrong is this !! Rather the complete opposite. When we boarded the plane, the high humidity level caused the air conditioning to fog the interior of the plane. You couldn't see the ...

... one too. The street where my hotel is, is a 6 lane road with a 20 ft impeccable pavement on both sides (never mind that two wheelers are merrily zipping upon it in true Indian style ; at least it is there). I think its time to consider abandoning Bangalore, where the word pavement has not yet entered the dictionary.

Its just a night halt here and I will be on the road again come morning. Orissa is not my target this time.

... the park of cactus which is the largest in 'Asia but nobody knows its existence, nor where it is! So rather exasperated, also 'cause I could not find a better hotel, I took the train to Puri that employed full 2.5 hoursto cover the 50 km distance. Never take a passanger train in India but an express!I found a good hotel at 10 euro and then I walked on the beach.Tomorrow I should visit several locations' in the ...
