... not as fun or relaxing as the first week unfortunately as I wasn't very well. I just did a lot of reading and hanging out at the beach not really doing very much at all. One night I was feeling a little rough and decided to go to bed early. I walked into my room only to be confronted by a cockroach. Urgh. We stared at each other for a long while. I may have been very still but I was definitely freaking out on the inside, having never come across one of the little darlings before. Luckily ...

Left Fort Lauderdale, drove down into Miami beach to check into one of USA's best Hostels. Famous for it's parties, we also booked ourselves on to the evenings night-activities including free happy hour cocktails followed by a trip to one of Miami's most famous clubs. Went down to Miami Beach boulevard for breakfast, having breakfast at News Cafe: famed for its people watching. Facetimed dad for Father's Day. Mum and Dad had invited all the Plebdems ...

... our hair in the wind, our first impressions of this vibrant city were amazing. We dropped our bags off at the South Beach Hostel and went out to explore. The boulevard alongside the beach caught our attention since everything seemed to be happening there. There was music coming from every bar and restaurant and people were having dinner at midnight while enjoying a Cuban cigar or while watching a belly dancer. We were surrounded by guys and girls who were all dressed up and ready ...

... back there, and got to the atrium just as they were doing a tree lighting ceremony (for Christmas). It was actually really cool, so we stayed and watched. They were playing a TSO (Trans Siberian Orchestra) song, and had put together a whole light show for the ceremony. Very cool.

When we got to the dining room, we were glad to be a party of two. The family of four ahead of us got a pager, but we got seated right away. The menu was slightly different than our other ...

We wake up, it's midday - apparently experiencing a different city every 2 days is exhausting, and we've only done 3! We really needed to sleep and now that we've caught up we decide to spend the remainder on our day at the beach. We walk in the insanely hot over 100F sunshine to the beach when we decide it is time for ice cream. A visit to CVS lands us with Ben and Jerry's with no spoons - we fashion scoops from the lid ...
