    After a stroll along the wide promenade overlooking the River Mersey and Liverpool we called in at The Magazine Hotel which is one of the oldest pubs on the Wirral with its building dating back to 1759.     ... our hotel quite easily and checked in. This is the only hotel where we have to pay for parking - however, when we check out we are entitled to a 20% discount on the parking. The car is parked a block away at the parking building attached to the Liverpool Football Club arena. The hotel is situated at Albert Dock in a former warehouse. The Albert Dock area has been transformed into a fabulous tourist precinct with restaurants, museums and pedestrian areas.
