The Capstone Hotel And Restaurant Ilfracombe

Well a bit behind with the blog due to no connection so here is a quick update.
We booked into Middlewick farm for a few days before going to Dad's and Mo's for a few days whilst "No Fixed Abode" was away being fitted with a tow bar.
The farm site was very quiet and relaxing, full of sweet smells of dung and pig poop!!!!
Truck dog Poppy thought it was great fun chasing the chickens!!

... the scullers including Sharen and Jo in the fours. They did no good at all even with us coming all this way to support them!! Spent the rest of the afternoon in No 1, The Talbot Inn at the bottom of High St, always been called No 1 but no one knows why. Lona cooked dinner at Johns for 6.30 and he just made it.

Tomorrow we leave, have to take truck dog Poppy to the vet, the vet has to check she does not have rabies and he will then issue her passport!!

We then travel to Looe for the weekend, fingers crossed weather is OK. But then if it is raining i might get some rest, i am all wore out, didn't know this holiday lark was such hard work!!

We left on Friday the 4th to spend some time with very old friends in the "SECRET LOCATION"

The weather turned up a treat and we’ve enjoyed almost 1 week of temperatures over 30deg. , nice sunny days and some beautiful day trips out of Zurich, even reaching just over the German border to Konstanz & Meersberg (unfortunately no passport stamps to prove it!)

She ticked all our boxes and we are really pleased with her.

As we haven't had a motor home before we are learning as we go along and we have had some really big laughs and a few shocks and surprises!!!!

We left our home town of Barnstaple and start our real journey on the 26th of August 2009 in Dorset.

Ok, this is just a quick check that all is running smoothly with the blog, as I've had some problems. Hopefully You're all now getting e mail updates when a new entry is posted. We've also retrieved the log in details for the travelpod account we created last year so that you can log in and make (nice!) comments. Well done ...

Amz and I went down to Dunster Castle in Dunster, which is a Medievil Village its awesome! We caught a disel train down and back, we tried to catch a proper steam train but we kept missing them by like 10 minutes! anyway still was very pretty trip down thru the country side and along the sea.
We then walked into town-a little bit of a mission- so to refresh ourselves we indulged in a cream tea which im sooooo in love ...

... exactly helped; how inconvenient! Anyway, everything is now booked; flights, cat into cattery, rental car to airport, Gatwick hotel, car hire in the US, 4 US hotels, 2 US houses, 1 US condo, and rental car from airport. Now I have to think about packing.......

Booked with Clyne Farms to go horse-back riding on the beach. But first we had to get our skills evaluated because when the horses see the wide open expanse of beach, they want to gallop. I was all for this. But it wasn't meant to be apparently. I've never ridden an English saddle before and it's been years since I've ridden a horse. Same with Jacqui. So the instructor said she ...
