... setting up when we went in the mall. It was pure sidewalk two hours before, when we came out there was fish cooking, tables with table clothes, waitresses showing pedestrians menu's the full nine yards, a complete restaurant in under 90 minutes, repeated 10 times per block. We also found some fruit drinks that were good. The train stration was a mile away and while we all wanted to do another TukTuk ride (the last one got us from the closed monument to ...

... vibe was not doing it for me and I felt like a grumpy old woman when I thought about how the majority the folks dancing in the street swinging their buckets about would have been 6 or 7 when I was here last. The nastiness of the morning aside, the rest of the day was fun. We went to a floating market and ate good food and explored some old temples and chapels. Did everything possible, really, to put that morning out of our minds.

Lesson learned here: Don't wish for something "interesting" to happen in your life. Be specific. Because being vague just gives the universe free reign to mess with you in the most despicable of ways.

    Just saying.

... he was walking toward the giant monitor from behind. For a moment I thought perhaps he didn't see that it was there, and this might all end terribly, but nope- he knew what he was doing. The way he sauntered over to that small-scale dinosaur demonstrated a level of coolheadedness that surpassed anything I had seen thus far on our trip. It was like he was planning to order a double double from In n Out, only he was closing in on what looked like a dragon. I was astonished when he ...
