... we would be picked up for services later that afternoon and would not have to fend the Manila traffic on our own. Services were scheduled for 2:30 pm, so our ride would be there at the hotel at 1:30 for the 10-15 minute ride to church. We were looking forward to meeting our brethren in Manila. ... depending on the depth if the water (see pics). Thus is where I would like to get in the water. We are sailing in quite a narrow channel, the Reef pilot is on board and I reckon he earns his wages. There are buoys marking the shallow waters all along the coast with small islands either side. For church I wore a more ornate barong that Earl Roemer provided for me. It's a very loose fitting one with long sleeves.

The time before church was filled with rehearsals for the special music. After services there were more rehearsals for children, particularly those that played a mandolins. It was an ensemble of little young girls who played with skill and precision.

Woke to sunrise over the mountains and an extremely strongly brewed coffee provided by the doctor. Chatted with Roberto for around 2.5 hours, some very interesting stories.
