... The wood from this hardwood tree is a deep golden color and reminds one of a lighter version of teakwood. The wood is so highly prized that over-forestation has made the tree relatively rare. It is now illegal in the Philippines to harvest the narra tree unless it is grown in a reforestation-type project. We had 31 attend church services including Pam and me. This picture here captured almost everyone there except for one person in the very front row - sorry ...

... learn that I wasn't a completely fussy person. My Uncle even promised to teach me house to drive the jeepney whenever I go back! I met so many neat people...but it's definitely a different way of life that I couldn't sustain for the long haul. In addition to the Spanish legacy, there were plenty of remnants of Americans within Intramuros as well. During the Second World War, General MacArthur had built barracks just outside the wall and those barracks still stand today. However, ...

Woke to sunrise over the mountains and an extremely strongly brewed coffee provided by the doctor. Chatted with Roberto for around 2.5 hours, some very interesting stories. He'd spent time in California before returning to the Philippines and building a house fit for a design magazine. Hosted many diplomats, ambassadors and CEOs who relish the privacy of the unmarked house on the hill in the country. Great policy of only having one ...
