... but today the current was too strong so they could not do drift snorkeling, which was just fine with Bob and me :-) It turned out to be another fantastic snorkeling and ocean experience!

Yesterday we traveled to Auckland New Zealand and will spend 5 days on the South Island in Queenstown. I'm so excited!!

... We move onto the south end of Fakarava. These dives consisted of drifting though a channel between two islands. Wow was this a crazy dive! We start going through and half way we settle down, hang onto some rocks and then the show starts. Schools of sharks make their way through this channel and with the strong current they are able to rest. So there are hundreds of them (mostly white tip and grey tips) It was quite a site!! There are only two navigable passes into Rangiroa’s interior. Entering it is like threading a needle. Everyone gathered on deck to see the ship enter the lagoon and to hopefully catch site of a pod of dolphins that like to play in the area.
