We left this morning around 8:50 - travelling to Ashville today. It was a lovely drive through the mountains. More colour in the trees than what we saw in the park. 15 degrees today!! Arrived at Lake Powhatan State park near Ashville around noon. Found 2 campsites, set up camp, had lunch and headed out for a hike on Mt. Mitchell. ... Bees don’t bother me. I’ve learned that they have zero interest in humans and only sting if you do something to them, like accidentally catch one in the crook of your elbow. Not being allergic only adds to my nonchalance. I sat on a log and doctored my feet. Jen braved her fears and sat next to me.
